Merve Emre

Merve Emre is Associate Professor of English at the University of Oxford and a contributing writer at The New Yorker. She is the author of Paraliterary: The Making of Bad Readers in Postwar America, The Ferrante Letters, and The Personality Brokers which was selected as one of the best books of 2018 by prestigious publications such as the New York Times, The Economist and The Spectator. She is also the editor of Once and Future Feminist and The Annotated Mrs. Dalloway. Currently, she is finishing a book entitled Post-Discipline: Literature, Professionalism, and the Crisis of the Humanities and even writing another one called Love and Other Useless Pursuits.
